Custom AI Chatbot Development
Conversational assistants for support, sales and internal operations, grounded in your knowledge with RAG. Evaluated for accuracy, with clean hand-off to a human when it matters.
Custom AI chatbots built on your data
A useful chatbot answers from your real knowledge, knows when it does not know, and hands off cleanly to a person. The failure mode to avoid is a confident assistant that invents answers.
We ground chatbots in your content with retrieval, evaluate them against real questions, and wire in the hand-off and system integrations so they fit how your teams already work.
- Grounded in your knowledge with RAG, with citations.
- Evaluated against real questions before it goes live.
- Clean hand-off to a human and integration with your tools.
Chatbots we build
- Customer service: answers from your help centre, policies and order data, with hand-off to an agent.
- Sales: product questions, recommendations and lead capture on your website.
- Internal helpdesk: HR, IT and policy questions answered from your intranet and documents.
- Contact centre: assistants that suggest answers to your agents during live chats and calls.
Unlike off-the-shelf chat widgets, a custom AI chatbot uses your own data, follows your tone and rules, and connects to the systems where the work actually happens.
Customer service AI implementation timeline
- Weeks 1 to 2: goals, scope, content sources and the questions the chatbot must handle.
- Weeks 3 to 6: build on your data, integrations with help desk or CRM, testing against real questions.
- Weeks 7 to 10: pilot with real users, fine-tuning, hand-off rules and go-live.
After launch we review unanswered and escalated conversations regularly and improve the content and the answers.
Chatbots and the EU AI Act
Most customer service chatbots are not high-risk under the EU AI Act. Since 2 August 2026, however, the transparency duty in Article 50 applies: people must be told they are talking to an AI system, at the latest at the start of the conversation. We build that notice into every chatbot.
If a chatbot generates synthetic audio or images, or supports decisions in sensitive areas such as credit or hiring, further duties can apply. We check the classification at the start of the project.
What we deliver
-
Grounded answers
Retrieval over your documentation and systems so responses are accurate, current and traceable to a source.
-
Hand-off and escalation
Logic that recognises when to bring in a human and passes full context to your support or sales tools.
-
Integrations
Connections to the help desk, CRM and internal systems your teams already use, so the chatbot acts, not just talks.
Frequently asked questions
Can the chatbot use our own documents?
Yes. We connect it to your knowledge base, manuals or tickets with retrieval, so answers come from your content and cite the source.
What happens when the chatbot does not know the answer?
It says so and hands the conversation to a person with the full context, instead of guessing.
Does a customer service chatbot fall under the EU AI Act?
Most support chatbots are limited-risk systems. The main duty is telling users they are talking to AI. We build that in.
How long does chatbot development take?
A first version on your data usually goes live in six to ten weeks.
