AI Literacy Training for Employees

Meet the AI literacy duty of the EU AI Act with practical training for every role and documented proof.

What it is

The AI literacy duty under Article 4

Since 2 February 2025, every company that provides or uses AI systems must take measures to ensure a sufficient level of AI literacy among its staff. Using ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or AI features in standard software is enough to fall under the rule.

The regulation does not prescribe a certificate or a number of hours. What counts is that training fits the role, knowledge and risk level of each group, and that you can show what was done.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Is AI literacy training mandatory?

Yes. Article 4 of the EU AI Act has required providers and deployers of AI systems to ensure AI literacy among staff since 2 February 2025.

  • Does it apply if we only use ChatGPT or Copilot?

Yes. Using AI tools at work makes your company a deployer, so the duty applies.

  • Is there an official certificate?

No. The regulation does not require a specific certificate. A documented training that fits the role and risk is what matters.

  • Does the EU AI Act apply to UK companies?

It applies if you place AI systems on the EU market or their output is used in the EU. Many UK companies with EU customers train their staff for that reason.
